Charlotte's Patrick Agyemang named to MLS All-Star team

Charlotte FC forward Patrick Agyemang was named to the MLS All-Star team, a first for the franchise in its four-year history.

Patrick Agyemang will be one of the 26 players to represent Major League Soccer against LIGA MX's best in the 2025 MLS All-Star Game. The match is July 23 at the home of Austin FC, Q2 Stadium.  (9 p.m. on MLS Season Pass)

Agyemang is the first player from Charlotte FC to be selected for an MLS All-Star Game. The club has had a presence though Crown Legacy players in the All-Star skills competitions with two consecutive titles in the Goalie Wars event won by Issac Walker in 2023 and Chituru Odunze last year.

Twelve players were voted in, with another dozen selected by coach Nico Estévez of Austin FC. Agyemang was named to the team by one of the two Commissioner’s picks, along with San Diego FC’s Chucky Lozano. 

Fifteen clubs are represented with three teams – Minnesota, Vancouver, and San Diego – featuring three selections each. Five clubs have two selections each, including host Austin, Colorado, Columbus, Miami, and Philadelphia.

While three players from a first-year club, as San Diego is, might seem generous, they are currently second in the MLS West behind Vancouver and ahead of Minnesota.
