Patrick Agyemang confirmed his place among the United States’ best soccer players.
Agyemang, a Charlotte FC striker, was named to the 2025 Concacaf Nations League finals roster along with teammate Tim Ream, making the Crown the lone MLS side with two players on the team.
“It’s definitely a good feeling,” Agyemang said earlier this week. “Makes me feel like that I’ve done something well when I was in camp, and now I know I have opportunities to play with the guys from Europe as well. Now I could really compete with players in that caliber and just puts me in an environment to ultimately develop more.”
The U.S. will play Panama on March 20 at 7 p.m., followed by a match against Canada or Mexico on March 23 in the final or third place game. The U.S.-Panama game will be shown on Paramount+ and Univision. Agyemang and Ream, a defender will depart following Saturday’s MLS match against FC Cincinnati at Bank of America Stadium.

Agyemang and Ream were named to the national team after earning invitations the January camp. Agyemang made an immediate impression by scoring a pair of goals in his first national team match in January. Ream, a USMNT veteran, has 67 caps for the national team and was on the roster for last year’s Nations League winner.
This time around, Agyemang has a better grasp of his time on the national team in terms of routine and teammates. He’s competing for playing time against forwards playing in Europe’s top leagues, like Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah of AC Milan (Italy’s Serie A), Timothy Weah of Juventus (Serie A) and Josh Sargent of Norwich City (English Premier League).
“It’s just doing what I know I’m good at and doing what I focus on just focus on my training and when I get there, it’s just all about me doing what I know I can control and do right,” he said. “And as long as I do that, then everything else is set up for success.”

Agyemang has yet to score in Charlotte’s first three games, but he’s taking a patient approach to productivity.
“Obviously, I hoped to score and assist more in the games we’ve been playing,” Agyemang said. “Obviously, it hasn't been like that, and that’s life sometimes. But for me, it's just to keep my head going, keep my head down, keep on.”
