More than 50 Carolinas employers will be on hand Oct. 24 at Carowinds for the Job Fair of the Carolinas.

If you’re looking for a job, there’s an opportunity on Oct. 24.

Workforce professionals from SC Works and NCWorks are collaborating for the Job Fair of the Carolinas, an in-person gathering at Carowinds, 14523 Carowinds Blvd. The fair, which will go from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., is open to the public and veterans may be identified with a wristband so potential employers can recognize them. Employers and jobseekers will enter the park through the main gate. Admission and parking are free.

Nearly 50 Carolinas employers have registered to participate. Positions will be available in manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, logistics, finance, construction, hospitality, entertainment, and state and local government.
The job fair will bring employers and jobseekers together from across a five-county area that includes Mecklenburg and Gaston counties in North Carolina along with Lancaster, Chester, and York counties in South Carolina. Pre-registration and a list of participating employers can be found at https://scworks.org/job-fair-carolinas.

“Our partnership between North and South Carolina is an excellent example of regional collaboration,” Ronne Grantham, NCWorks Regional Operations Director with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, said in a statement. “The event at Carowinds enables us to connect qualified talent with employers from in-demand sectors who offer a variety of occupations.”

NCWorks and SC Works, along with partner agencies, will be on hand to guide jobseekers on how to successfully navigate the fair with information on employment and training services through each state’s American Job Centers.

“Having North and South Carolina work together in this way has proven successful for employers in both states as well as the job seekers who have found employment through this job fair at our past events,” said Diana Goldwire, assistant executive director of employment service with the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. “Jobseekers and employers do not see county or state lines. Holding this event at Carowinds has opened the doors for more employers to participate and therefore provided even more options for jobseekers to take advantage of getting back to work.”
