| Fabrice Ngah and Charlotte Independence agreed to terms on a deal for his services just before the 2023 campaign kicked off. |
Fabrice Ngah won’t need too much time getting acquainted with Charlotte.
The Independence left back signed last week to return to the Jacks in time for the season opener. Ngah joined the Jacks after playing with Canon Yaoundé in Cameroon’s top flight. After a previous deal fell by the wayside, he’s suiting up for the season.
“I am very happy to return to Charlotte because it is not the first time,” Ngah said. “I was already there, but it didn’t work out. This time it’s the right move, and I’m already excited to be with my new family.”
Before Canon Yaoundé, Ngah played with Cleopatra FC in the Egyptian Premier League, where he made 12 appearances from 2020-2021. Ngah spent 2018-20 with Raja Club Athletic in Botola, Morocco’s top flight. He made a combined 53 appearances during that span, scoring two goals and earned two assists.

“Fabrice ticks all the boxes we wanted in a left back – athletic, strong, defensive qualities combined with quality play out of the back and the ability to make plays in the final third,” Charlotte Independence Head Coach Mike Jeffries said. “We barely missed out on bringing him to Charlotte several years ago. Since then, we have seen him develop into an international with Cameroon.”
Ngah started his time in Morocco with Difaâ El Jadida in 2017 before leaving in 2018. He made 30 appearances and earned one goal with four assists.
Ngah earned his first call up to Cameroon’s national team in 2014 and has appeared in four games, most recently in 2021 as a starter against Cape Verde in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. He started his professional career in Cameroon with Les Astres FC in 2013.
