Charlotte dentist and entrepreneur Dr. Joya Lyons created The Enchanted Tooth Box and corresponding book “The Tooth Fairy and The Enchanted Tooth Box” through her business, Enchanted Traditions.

Dr. Joya Lyons is more than a dentist.

She is also a wife, mother, author, entrepreneur, inventor, and believer.

“My core values don't change – God, family, and then my career,” said Lyons, who is the co-owner of Smile Savvy Family and Cosmetic Dentistry with her husband. “So as long as I keep those – my main things that are important to me, it's actually easy to juggle.”

Lyons, 39, merged her roles of motherhood and cosmetic dentistry as inventor of The Enchanted Tooth Box and author of the children’s book “The Tooth Fairy and The Enchanted Tooth Box,” through her new business Enchanted Traditions.

She aims to help busy parents keep the magic of the Tooth Fairy alive for children.

“As entrepreneurs juggling careers, chores, and growing to-do lists in addition to two children, my husband and I found it difficult to wake up in the middle of the night to play Tooth Fairy,” said Lyons, who has a 9-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. “However, the desire to make this moment magical for our children outweighed our exhaustion. I wanted my kids to experience the same joy and wonder I did as a child, so I got to work.”

The book tells the story of how the Tooth Fairy completes her nightly missions even when the task is challenging. After the main character Brielle loses her first tooth and wakes up moneyless, she is disappointed and wants answers. She then discovers the mysterious Enchanted Tooth Box with a note from the Tooth Fairy.

The Enchanted Tooth Box is a mechanical keepsake box, which exchanges the parents’ (standing in for the Tooth Fairy’s) gift with a child’s tooth while everyone is sleeping. As a result, adults don’t have to stress over getting up in the middle of the night to swap out teeth.

Both products are available for sale beginning Feb. 23. The book is $27.99, the Enchanted Tooth Box is $59.99, and the Enchanted Bundle is $79.99.
