Charlotte SHOUT! is returning to Uptown in 2023.

The multi-week regional creativity festival returns March 31-April 16, 2023.

The interactive art installation “Impulse,” featuring 16 light-up see-saws that have become an iconic part of SHOUT!, will return to Levine Avenue of the Arts. Additional programming — concerts, food festivals, streeteries and public art —will be announced later.

“Our team started planning the 2023 edition of Charlotte SHOUT! almost as soon as this year’s festival ended,” said Robert Krumbine, executive producer of the showcase and chief creative officer at Charlotte Center City Partners. “We can’t wait to invite people from across our region and beyond to experience the exceptional programming that we are curating from around the corner and around the world.”

An Invitation to Creative Participation was released online last week, seeking submissions for creative opportunities as a part of SHOUT! 2023. Artists from the region can apply by Oct. 10. All artists who are commissioned to participate in Charlotte SHOUT! will be paid for their work.

More than 1.8 million people were in Uptown last year’s Charlotte SHOUT! festival, which generated an estimated economic impact of $10 million.
