Gloria Brown, general manager of a Charlotte McDonald’s restaurant, has been selected as the winner of the Ray Kroc Award.
The award is given to the top 345 McDonald’s restaurant managers from around the world in 60 markets. It includes a cash prize and a trophy.
Brown, who joined McDonald’s as a crew member in 1996 following the birth of her fourth child, has been promoted several times, including her current role.
• M&F Bank has appointed financial services professional Emma Allen of Charlotte to its board of directors.
Allen will primarily support the organization's mission and purpose by championing small business owners in the community and build awareness of the Durham-based bank and its offerings.
An entrepreneur and experienced professional with an extensive background in finance, banking, recruitment and sales, Allen is owner of Emma Allen Insurance Agency, a State Farm affiliate.
The UNC Charlotte alumnus previously worked and lived in Winston-Salem.
