Reasons you’ll love Nan and Byron’s just as much as we do:

1) Atmosphere

Simple. Elegant. Even on a crowded day, the spacious layout doesn’t make you feel as though you’ve shoved your head in a tin can and you can’t hear anything. Rather than covering the walls with pointless knickknacks, the décor remains simple, with plenty of windows bringing in natural light. With tasteful music—soothing, but not elevator boring, energizing but not overbearing—one feels right at home.

2) Food

Where to start? Just order everything and never leave…or start with the salads. I know what you’re thinking, “Why would I want to order a salad” They’re so boring. I want real food.” I hate to break it to you, but salads have always been real food—they simply happen to be better for you than a burger.

Start with a Burrata Salad ($8.50), and while you’re at it, top it off with steak (an additional $6). You’re not getting a few boring chunks of iceberg lettuce and mealy tomatoes, but white wine poached pears, roasted plums, grapes and greens. Adding steak just makes this already perfect dish even better.

3) Popcorn (yes it gets it’s own section outside of food)

Who doesn’t love popcorn? Whether it’s at the movies or giant tins on Christmas (you know, the ones with the caramel and 3,000 different types of cheddar), popcorn’s always a delicious idea. Topped with Old Bay seasoning, you’ll get a hint of cayenne pepper and overall deliciousness to start the meal.

4) Service

Simple—they’re kind and attentive without being overbearing or fake. Be kind to your server and tip well. It’s not an easy job and truth be told, you’ve probably been in your server’s shoes at one point or another.

5) Location

1714 South Blvd. Located in the heart of South End, parking isn’t half the nightmare it is in Uptown. A short walk (less than a quarter of a mile) from the East/West Blvd Lynx Station or the Bland Street Station, it’s easily accessible.
