Charlotte 49ers sign Mbuthia and Pilcher to letters of intent
Players have area academy ties

Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer has signed two players.

John Paul Mbuthia and Ian Pilcher, who will join the 49ers in 2021, each have local ties. Mbuthia is a Mooresville native who attends the Community School of Davidson. He played for the Charlotte Independence’s USL Academy side as an attacking player. Pilcher attends Ardrey Kell High and plays defender for Charlotte Soccer Academy.
