Five North Carolina Courage players have been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team training camp roster ahead of the SheBelieves Cup.

Head coach Vlatko Andonovski selected Courage defenders Abby Dahlkemper and Crystal Dunn, midfielder Samantha Mewis as well as forwards Jessica McDonald and Lynn Williams to the 26-player roster. Twenty-three will be announced prior to the SheBelieves Cup.

The top-ranked Americans, who won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, face No. 6 England on March 5 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, following No. 10 Japan taking on No. 13 Spain. England Japan face each other at 2:15 p.m. on March 8 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, followed by the USWNT versus Spain.

Dunn earned her 100th cap on Feb. 7 during the U.S.’s 4-0 win over Mexico. Her milestone will be honored during their match against Spain.

The SheBelieves Cup concludes on March 11 in Frisco, Texas at Toyota Stadium with England vs. Spain followed by USA-Japan.

All five Courage players participated in the Olympic qualifying tournament Jan. 28-Feb. 9, which culminated in a 3-0 win over Canada in the final. The five-game tournament, during which the Americans scored 25 goals and did not concede any, secured their qualification for the 2020 Olympic Games.

“As a team, we have lots of positive feelings coming out of Olympic Qualifying, but I think we all know that there’s still a lot of room for growth for this group and there’s no better way to continue that process than to play teams like England, Spain and Japan,” Andonovski said in a statement. “Our end goal is the Olympics, but we’re looking forward to a productive camp in Orlando and the challenge of playing three fantastic sides over the seven days. The rhythm of the SheBelieves Cup schedule directly matches what we will face in group play at the Olympics, and the value of getting a test run against this level of competition cannot be overstated.”
