Charlotte Independence announce preseason training, matches
Players report Jan. 27 in Matthews

The Charlotte Independence open training Jan. 27 in Matthews, followed by the preseason opener Feb. 12 against Tormenta FC. They also play in-state USL Championship rival North Carolina FC Feb. 15 at the Sportsplex.

Preseason dates are out for the Charlotte Independence.

The Jacks, who start training on Jan. 27 at the Sportsplex at Matthews, open preseason action in Columbia, South Carolina on Feb. 12 against Tormenta FC of USL League One at 5 p.m.

Charlotte hosts in-state league rivals North Carolina FC on Feb. 15 at the Sportsplex at 2 p.m. and NISA club Stumptown Athletic Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. The Independence travel to League One side Greenville Triumph SC on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., and conclude preseason in Atlanta on Feb. 29 at 2 p.m.

Charlotte kicks off the USL Championship regular season on March 8 at Sporting Kansas City II. The Jacks have eight players on the official roster: goalkeeper Brandon Miller, defenders Clay Dimick, Joel Johnson and Hugh Roberts, midfielders Valentin Sabella, Jake Areman and Kevan George, as well as striker Enzo Martinez.
