While the mainstream media and Democratic establishment smear President Trump, he’s busy implementing policies that benefit all Americans. When he arrives in Greenville for a massive campaign rally this week, the President will bring with him a record that promises a new deal for black America.

Black voters understand that the divide-and-conquer strategy pursued by the Democrats is no longer in their interest. The African American community needs opportunity, employment, and a fair deal — not racial pandering, group division, and dependency-inducing handouts that the Democrats have been using to purloin our votes for 50 years.

But Democrats have nothing else to offer: too afraid to take on their elite patrons who promote race-based political correctness, Democratic politicians choose to spew divisive rhetoric rather than enact concrete change, and use welfare payments as tools to maintain the economic status quo.

Instead of handouts and slogans, black America needs structural reforms and access to greater opportunity. President Trump has pushed for these changes in his ongoing fight to bring back the American jobs lost to outsourcing and restore genuine economic potential to low-income communities, and he will undoubtedly make his success on that front a focal point of his rally in Greenville on Wednesday.

For decades, the establishment elites exported American jobs overseas and imported cheap foreign labor. Working Americans of all colors paid the price, forced to support their families with dwindling chances for real advancement. American wages remained stagnant, unemployment stayed high, and economic growth slowed to a crawl.

African American communities bore a disproportionately heavy portion of the burden, enduring persistently high poverty, unemployment, and crime rates because so many opportunities had been taken away by elitist greed.

The Democrat politicians who claim to speak for African Americans have offered us little more than the crumbs from their table. Instead of addressing the hostile economic conditions holding black Americans back, Democrats always try to deflect criticism from their own failed policies by calling conservatives racists. Many black “leaders” actively participate in this deception, exploiting our suffering to enrich themselves and win phony praise from America’s upper crust.

All the while, America’s ruling class has cynically used the rich legacy of the Civil Rights Movement to advance its own elitist agenda, leveraging heroic protests such as the Greensboro sit-in — which I proudly took part in — to pass transgender bathroom bills.

Thanks to President Trump’s America First economic policies, though, a new day has dawned, and African Americans are finally being offered genuine opportunity rather than more dependency politics.

Instead of paying off the people who have been hurt by globalization with government welfare checks, as the Democrats often promise to do, President Trump has taken on elite interests and completely rewritten the rules of the game. With President Trump, working Americans have a champion in Washington who will defend their interests and give them the fair deal they so desperately need.

Black Americans have already begun to see the gains, achieving our lowest unemployment rate ever recorded and benefiting from the rejuvenated wage growth that Trump’s pro-growth policies have brought about. The progress African Americans have made under the Trump administration has proven Frederick Douglass correct: we don’t need Democrats to take care of us, we need to be left alone.

“Your doing with them is their greatest misfortune,” Douglass once advised political leaders who were debating what to do with the soon-to-be-emancipated slaves. “They have been undone by your doings, and all they now ask, and really have need of at your hands, is just to let them alone. They suffer by every interference, and succeed best by being let alone.”

African Americans don’t need Democrats turning us into victims. Though we may have suffered grave injustices in the past, we don’t need white liberals to take care of us. We’re perfectly capable of making a better future for ourselves; we just need the freedom and the opportunity to take care of ourselves and our own. President Trump’s policies, which are designed to unleash the full potential of the American people, are enabling the African American community to stand tall on its own two feet.

Democrats see that the Trump economy has provided success and opportunity to people whose votes they have long taken for granted, and they’re clearly starting to get worried. In response, they have ramped up the racially-divisive rhetoric in order to create irrational fear of Donald Trump among the very people who are benefiting the most from his policies. We can’t let the left foil the president’s plans to guide the American economy to even greater heights, and that means calling them out for their despicable race-baiting and name calling. While Democrats often claim to speak for black America, they’re really motivated solely by their own interests.

When he visits North Carolina, a place that played a critical role in the historic beginnings of the Civil Rights Movement, President Trump will celebrate the new possibilities that his policies are opening up for all Americans. In doing so, he offers the promise of a new shared future, realizing the goals that the Civil Rights Movement only dared to dream. Under this president’s leadership, American workers pursue their dreams with confidence that their government puts them first, irrespective of their race or creed. Under these conditions, black Americans can look forward to a future of accomplishment and prosperity.

I don't trust the democrats or the republicans! They're all evil and all are oppressing the poor. There was a homeless PHD and I have met a homeless man with a bachelor's and a masters degree in engineering. And he is not lazy, not on drugs, not alcoholic, He was laid off from his job and still ended up homeless. He was seeking work and even volunteering to clean the library on a daily basis. Never judge the poor. It could be YOU in spite of your 'success.' Trump is evil and SO many just can't see it!

Wow! How refreshing to here Truth ratherthan pandering. It's Truth that sets people free not Lies!

Finally, black people are starting to wake up to the lies of the democrats. Democratic president Lyndon Baines Johnson once bragged that he'd "have the niggers voting democratic for the next 200 years" when privately talking about a democratic campaign strategy (focused on making blacks rely on the government for everything and telling blacks that democrats were their only hope.) True enough, the democrats have been masterful in executing their strategies, which have exploited and oppressed blacks ever since.

But if democrats loved black people so much...
1. Why do the inner cities all look like war zones?
2. Why are primarily black schools producing kids that can't read?
3. Why do democrats insist on letting in illegal immigrants? Is it to compete with poor black workers and drive down wages even more? (Yes; it's simple economics).
4. Why can't the democrats balance big city budgets, while smaller, Republican cities usually do balance theirs?
5. Why do more black people die in Chicago every year than die in Afghanistan?
6. Why did it take a white, Republican president to pass criminal justice reform, when the last one wasn't interested?
7. Why have democrats always voted against every single significant piece of civil rights legislation, while Republicans, like Abraham Lincoln, are the only ones who have ever passed any?

If you're a black person, you have to ask yourself these questions. Remember, the definition of "crazy" is to keep on doing what you've always done, and hope for different results.

What are you talking about there is no data? There is plenty of data. Unemployment is at a record low. Good jobs have returned to communities that were gutted by factory closings brought on by NAFTA. Those jobs have come back!! And those communities are getting better. There's no denying it! It's bizarre that people want to replace the President who has done this because he acts like Lyndon Johnson. One of their big heroes. We need to stop listening to liberal weirdos.

What this author is failing to realize is that those jobs that African Americans are working in are not the jobs that will lift them up and out of poverty because they are low wages jobs, with either little to no benefits or benefits are prorated because they are only for 20-30 hours a week. Why aren't there enough jobs in sectors that actually pay a livable wage? Because when you are in a low wage job, one can't participate in a 401(k) plan to build financial wealth, save enough money to pay for a down payment for a house or pay for college tuition. Why? Because they are too busy surviving to pay these high a**rents, pay for transportation to their jobs that have been pushed out to areas that have shoddy access, paying for afterschool programs (btw, which DeVos is trying to cut), health insurance and whole other issues that comes along with living below or at the federal poverty level. At least the Democrats are proposing equality and equity for all people who are living in poverty. That's what this author is failing to realize...a good writer always tells both sides, something that isn't happening here!!

Unfortunately, this opinion piece falls flat on all fronts, namely its failure to cite any data to support the conclusion:

"Under this president's leadership, American workers pursue their dreams with confidence that their government puts them first, irrespective of their race or creed. Under these conditions, black Americans can look forward to a future of accomplishment and prosperity."

I'm sorry Clarence but you have failed to persuade anyone of anything other than you're a sell out who will placate to try to get a seat at the table at the expense of turning a blind eye to the suffering of your brothers and sisters of color. It's a damn shame that you call your self a journalist or speak on behalf of anyone but yourself.

I agree. People need to wake up to what the Democrats and Rino's are trying to do . Black and White people get along fine in most case's and if we didn't have the democrats and the media democrats trying to divide us for their own greedy reasons.

I voted for Obummer both times, in hopes that maybe he could finally eliminate racism from our lives. But he managed to make things worse. I love this woman! She is not afraid to speak up and tell the truth. The libs WANT to keep racism, keep us divided... Keep us against each other... As long as we are fighting each other we don't pay attention to the evil, greedy atrocities they are committing!

I am so blessed to see more and more the absolute awaking and questioning of the black community. Being racist is a horrible claim and one they throw around without merit. It has now list it's meaning. I'm am amount many who want the black community to rise up on their own acheivment and intelligent ability because they quite frankly can and will when the Democratic leaders move out of their way. It's an easier road to take the hand-out, I should know. But the hand up is the better choice. Democrats are the racist party, implementing affirmative action, and making being black seem like a handicap. Rediculous. Thank God more Black are speaking up even though they are being persicuted for it. I admire every step of this new black movement to be free of the democrat oppressor.
