House music meets jazz at End-to-End.

The inaugural two-day festival kicks off at Camp North End at 5 p.m. on May 10.

Charlotte group Quentin Talley & The Soul Providers play at 6 p.m. After their 90-minute set, Chicago-based electronic artist Hieroglyphic Being will join them for an hour of collaboration, followed by his own set from 8:30-10 p.m. to wrap day one.

“It is going to be a nice marriage of ideas of the night,” Talley said. “We are just going to vibe with each other and do what musicians do, play off each other and feed off each other. It should be a great time Friday.”

Talley, founder of OnQ Productions and currently cast as Philmore in the Brand New Sheriff Productions rendition of August Wilson’s “Jitney” this month, is always busy. What is his trick to balancing performing, creating and other parts of life? Avoid double-booking.

“It’s a fine balance act,” Talley said. “With Charlotte Shout going on [to celebrate Charlotte’s 250th birthday], there is a lot going on in the city. With my character in ‘Jitney,’ thankfully it’s a small cameo, because I told them I couldn’t commit to a large role. It’s just a fine balancing act of making sure you try and stay on top of your schedule. That’s biggest advice I can give to anybody. Just try not to double-book yourself, because I’ve done it a lot before.”
