Dancing in traffic can be dangerous.

AAA Carolinas is urging drivers to avoid joining the #InMyFeelingsChallenge while behind the wheel of moving vehicles. The challenge, which involves dancing along a moving vehicle to Drake’s No. 1 song “In My Feelings,” started in June by social media comedian Shiggy. Since the challenge became a social media sensation, injury reports have come from around the country where participants fell out of a moving vehicle or getting hit by passing traffic.

“You put your life and the lives of everyone on the road in danger by partaking in this dangerous challenge behind the wheel,” AAA Carolinas spokeswoman Tiffany Wright said in a statement. “While no one has died yet from the injuries suffered while doing this challenge, we hope that it won’t take a death to make motorists realize the fatal consequences of this viral craze and remind them of the importance of keeping their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.”

AAA warns the challenge is dangerous for everyone, including dancers in the street who have to contend with traffic, drivers who record it on their phone and anyone getting out of a moving vehicle.

An Iowa teen is recovering in the intensive care unit from a fractured skull due to falling out of the car after trying the challenge at a roundabout. Another woman was robbed while attempting the challenge.

There are also legal consequences for taking the challenge, such as fines for exiting a moving vehicle or distracted driving.
