Five books to add to your summer reading list:

1) “One True Loves” by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Remember when Prince Henry asked Leonardo da Vinci “Do you think there is only one perfect mate?” in the 1998 Cinderella film, “Ever After?” Almost 20 years later, people are still asking that question. Do you get only one true love? Does true love even exist?

Join Emma Blair as she asks all of those plus another zillion questions about this complicated thing we call love and try to figure out what you would do if you were engaged to someone and your presumably dead spouse turned up after being lost at sea for several years. That part resembles “Cast Away” and almost every other tragic story. So who gets the happy ending?

2) “The One That Got Away” by Leigh Himes

Everyone wonders “What if?” So step into a contemporary version of “It’s a Wonderful Life”—minus the Christmas aspect—and examine everything society has dictated we are supposed to want. Consider if those things even matter while you enjoy a trip to Philadelphia.

3) “Hang-ups and Hangovers” by Kyle Milligan

Grab a Corona and pretend you’re at the beach. Laugh at the absurdity of humanity, embrace the Charlotte references and try to stay out of toxic relationships…and tanning beds. You’ll get the reference after you read the book.

4) “Rumor Has It” by Cheris Hodges

If this book doesn’t leave you hungry for Amelie’s or 300 East, then you might just be a lost cause. Enjoy a slice of romance in the summer sun.

5) “I Heard a Rumor” by Cheris Hodges

Fall in love with old and new characters from “Rumor Hast It.” Just don’t throw the book into the sand when certain characters really make you mad (the poor book can’t help the contents of some of its crazy characters).
