The Classic Blueberry Mango Smoothie is a simple, quick, low-calorie treat to cool you down on a hot summer day.

There is nothing better in the summer than a guilt-free sweet treat to help cool you off. Simple, quick, low calorie and healthy smoothies are a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth and help you slim down.

Dr. Ian Smith, co-host of The Doctors and author of the New York Times bestseller “Super SHRED: The Big Results Diet,” offers these three recipes that hit the spot and beat the heat. Each can be made in five minutes and contains less than 200 calories.

Classic Blueberry Mango Smoothie

Servings: 2

1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries

1 cup mango chunks

¼ cup vanilla soy milk, almond milk, skim milk, or water

1 cup plain yogurt

¼ cup ice chips, optional

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and puree until smooth. Refrigerate until drink is desired temperature. If you want to drink immediately, simply add ¼ cup ice chips to the ingredients.

Fruit Power Smoothie

Servings: 4

1 cup strawberries

½ cup blueberries

1 kiwi, peeled & sliced

1 banana, peeled & chopped

1 cup ice cubes

1 8-ounce container peach yogurt

½ cup orange juice (not from concentrate)

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and puree until smooth. Refrigerate until drink is desired temperature.

Green Power Machine

Total Time: 5 minutes

Servings: 2

½ cup apple, peeled, cored, & chopped

4 kale leaves chopped

½ cup chopped mango

6 romaine leaves chopped

¼ cup fresh parsley sprigs

1 inch fresh ginger root, peeled & chopped

1 cup of water

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and puree until smooth. Refrigerate until drink is desired temperature.
