Valentine's Day is a day of celebrating love and relationships.
Not only is it a time when the pressure is on to shower your sweetie with gifts and plan a perfect evening to show much you care, there is a lot of pressure to look your best. Whether you are planning on spending a night out on the town or having a romantic dinner by candlelight, here are a few fashion tips for men and women to make sure you do it in style:
Warm colors like red, orange, and fuchsia induce feelings of happiness. While cool hues of blue, lavender, and green have a soothing effect. No matter what shade you choose, the effect will be a positive emotion. Gentlemen don’t miss this window of opportunity to compliment your dates. A simple gesture of, "That color looks great on you," could go a long way.
Bling it up
Add an eye-catching accessory like a necklace, pair of long earrings, or a quirky tie that reflects your personality. The splash of vibrancy will draw more attention to your face and your lips.
Step it up
Wear your favorite pair of shoes. Whether they are stilettos or spectators, wearing your best pair of shoes will add some swag as you step in style. Shoes don’t just complete an outfit; they often make the outfit. So consider planning your look from the feet up.
Even with a closet full of clothes, it can still be a difficult task to find something to wear. Having a well-put together go-to outfit on standby is a must.
Ladies, consider the timeless wrap dress, created by Diane Von Furstenberg. This iconic style looks flattering on every body shape. The drape of fabric across the chest creates a chic v-neckline, and the suggestively tied closure makes this conservative pattern turn romantic. Pair it with pumps for a flirty finish or with ankle booties for an edgier look.
It's no secret that many ladies have a weakness for a man in uniform. When it comes to looking dapper in a uniform, it’s the jack that pulls the look together. The jacket defines a man's broad shoulders, and the lapels around the neck send a subtle message of authority. Lead your partner through an unforgettable evening in a blazer or polished jacket. A good way to infuse your personality to the classic style is to layer the coat over a thin sweater, button-up, or t-shirt.
