In commemoration of American Heart Month, the American Heart Association has kicked off its annual “Go Red for Women” campaign, encouraging women to take better care of their hearts. Friday is National Wear Red Day. Wear the color in support of AHA’s mission to increase awareness about heart disease, the number one killer of women. Numerous landmarks in charlotte and the surrounding area will go red in support of the cause.
Check out these “Go Red” events happening around town this month:
- Go Red for Women Executive Breakfast – an invitation-only breakfast being held Feb. 7 to introduce local business leaders to the Go Red fro Women campaign. They will also hear from heart survivors, learn about the Circle of Red Society and sponsorship opportunities for this spring’s GRFW Luncheon and Education Forum.
- Macy’s Go Red Total Makeover Event – Stop by Macy’s in SouthPark Mall Feb. 8 between 1-3 p.m. to participate in the Passport Good Health program. Admission is free.
