New Year's Eve Party list
14 ways to ring in 2014

From masquerade balls to 1920s-themed celebrations there are a plethora of ways to ring in the New Year around the Queen City.

Options can get pricey. If you are looking for some free, family-friendly fun, head Uptown to Romare Bearden Park for First Night Charlotte. There will be a variety of activities and entertainment, including a live performance by Sol Fusion at 10 p.m. The alcohol-free event is presented by Charlotte Center Partners and WBTV. Kids events begin at 1 p.m. Romare Bearden Park is located at 300 S. Church St. Visit www.charlottecentercity.org for more information. 

Here’s a list of 14 other ways to welcome 2014:

NYE Masquerade Ball
WHERE: Sip Charlotte
WHAT: An Uptown party full of mystery set to the beat of Top-40 music. Doors open at 9 p.m. Guests will be treated to party favors, masks, complimentary buffet, midnight champagne toast and three drink tickets.
HOW MUCH: $75-$85.

Fitzgerald’s New Year’s Eve
WHERE: Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub
WHAT: Food and drinks in a festive, casual atmosphere with music provided by a DJ. Guests will be treated to top shelf liquor, beer, wine and breakfast buffet. There will also be plenty of party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. The party starts at 9 p.m.
HOW MUCH: $70.

New Year’s Eve Celebration at Osso
WHERE: Osso Restaurant & Lounge
WHAT: A New Year’s Eve dinner and midnight celebration with three menu tier options. Reservation times available between 5–7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. until close.
HOW MUCH: Prices range from $40 per person to $300 per couple.

Dharma NYE
WHERE: Dharma Lounge
WHAT: Ring in the New Year with underground sounds of Dirtybird’s Mark Starr, KT Caustic, Kev Kev, Nat Eichler and Dick Not Richard.
HOW MUCH: $20.

NYE Party at the Westin
WHERE: The Westin Charlotte
WHAT: This annual bash is one of the hottest tickets in town, featuring multiple dance floors and DJs, Venetian and La Rumba ballrooms and cash bars.
HOW MUCH: $20 and up.

Back to the Future Bash
WHERE: Roxbury Nightclub
WHAT: Dance all night to music from the 1980s and ‘90s on multiple dance floors and indulge responsibly on drink specials from the venue’s four bars. Guests will also be treated to a confetti blast and champagne toast at midnight.
HOW MUCH: $20-$25.

A Las Vegas New Year’s Eve
WHERE: Cathode Azure
WHAT: This party will be anything but ordinary. There will be plenty of entertainment and live performances by showgirls and drag artist Bella Jade Dior at this Las Vegas-style bash.
HOW MUCH: $15 in advance.

NYE The Great Gatsby
WHERE: Label Charlotte
WHAT: A roaring ‘20s-themed celebration with Four Color Zack, a midnight balloon drop, live dance show and food.

NYE at Bubble
WHERE: Bubble Nightclub
WHAT: Why not bring in the New Year at Charlotte’s newest champagne-themed nightclub? Enjoy food, specialty champagne cocktails, music and dancing.
HOW MUCH: Call (704) 733-9427 for details.

5Church New Year’s Eve
WHERE: 5Church Restaurant
WHAT: Enjoy a four-course meal (with options for each course) and a glass of champagne. Late night options include music, ball-drop countdown and champagne toast, party favors, open bar and buffet from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.
HOW MUCH: $65 to $95 depending on time of reservation with $30 additional for open bar.

New Year’s Eve in SouthPark
WHERE: City Tavern
WHAT: An upscale party where guests will be treated to an appetizer buffet, champagne toast at midnight and DJ entertainment. Guests can reserve private rooms, table service and enjoy outdoor fire pits. Dinner reservations begin at 4 p.m. The party starts at 10 p.m.
HOW MUCH: $10 (Free admission with NYE dinner reservations).

NYE ’14 The Experience
WHERE: Caviar Nightlife
WHAT: A black & white affair with music provided by DJ Puff. Guests will also be treated to a champagne toast and an outdoor Cuban Cabana with a custom cigar roller.
HOW MUCH: $20 and up.

A NYE Red Carpet Affair
WHERE: Village Tavern
WHAT: Guest at this NYE celebration will be treated to appetizers, drink specials, party favors, music by DJ Method and a midnight champagne toast.
HOW MUCH: $20.

Third Annual VGBG NYE Party
WHERE: VBGB Beer Hall & Garden Restaurant
WHAT: VBGB is joining forces with NoDa Brewing Company for a crafty New Year’s Eve and birthday celebration. There’ll be an open bar, midnight champagne toast and complimentary buffet. Plus, NoDa’s special NYE cask will be on tap.
HOW MUCH: $60 all inclusive.
