Christmas is less than a week away. If all of the last minute shopping and holiday meal preparation is stressing you out and wearing you down, it’s time for a break. Fortunately, this week is full of distractions. From wine pairings, sports games and holiday concerts, here is a look at what’s happeing around Charlotte in the days ahead:

'Cooked, Corked & Poured' 12/19

Head down to Wolfgang Puck Pizza|Bar  (6706 Phillips Place Court) in south Charlotte for “Cooked, Corked & Poured” at 7 p.m. The evening will include a four-course pairing of seasonal entrees with fine wines from the Delicato Family Vineyards. Cost is $50. Space is limited. Call (704) 295-0101 to reserve your spot.

After dinner, head Uptown to the lobby of The Ritz Carlton (201 E. Trade Street) and join the Charlotte Kappas for the holiday edition of Cufflinks & Cocktails, 6-10 p.m. Visit CufflinksAndCocktails.com for more information.

 

'The Colors of Christmas' 12/20

See Peabo Bryson, CeCe Winans, Ruben Studdard and Melissa Manchester in concert during “The Colors of Christmas” holiday tour. The show begins at 8 p.m. at Knight Theater, 430 S. Tryon St. Tickets start at $54.50 and are available at www.BlumenthalArts.org.

After the show, throw on a Santa hat and head down to Cosmos Café (8420 Rea Road) in Ballantyne for the Social Flockers Naughty Elf Party. There is no cover. Parking is free. The party begins at 10 p.m.

Bobcats vs. Jazz 12/21

Watch the Charlotte Bobcats take on the Utah Jazz at Time Warner Cable Arena (333 E. Trade Street) in Uptown Charlotte. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets begin at $10. www.NBA.com/Bobcats.com.

After the game, join Inner Circle, Floyd Hodge and The A List as they host Holiday Nouveau at Privilege Nightclub (223 S. Brevard St.) 10 p.m.–2 a.m. For VIP tables and bottle service call (704) 639-5128 or email alistnc@yahoo.com.

Game watch party 12/22

Watch the Panthers take on the Saints at Bank of America Stadium, 800 S. Mint St., at 1 p.m. If you don’t have tickets to the game, you can check out the action between Carolina and New Orleans or any of the other teams playing on the dozens of big-screen HD televisions at Strike City (210 E. Trade Street), where there’s a game watch party and drink specials every Sunday.

Martini Monday 12/23

It’s Martini Monday at Sushi 101 (8662 JW Clay Blvd). Flavored martinis are on special for $3, and with $3 fried, tempura or grilled yakitori and makimono rolls starting under $4, the menu has plenty of tappas-style options perfect for sharing while dishing on all that transpired over the weekend.

The night before Christmas 12/24

It’s Christmas Eve! Throw on some PJs, fix some hot cocoa and wrap those last minute gifts.

Rather step out on the town? Put on your naughtiest Christmas-themed attire and check out the Bad Santa party at Level (225 N Caldwell Street) from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. Toast to the holidays with the evening’s signature cocktail, the marshmallow martini.
