Bryant is passionate about issues facing disadvantaged women and children, domestic violence in particular. Her report on a child pornography ring in Hickory, NC earned her an Emmy nomination in 2005. Since then she has received multiple Emmy nominations for breaking news coverage, special investigations and medical breakthroughs.

Bryant has also received awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. Mecklenburg County Youth and Family Services also recognized Bryant for her dedication to advocating for children in foster care.

Bryant earned her degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Off the air, Bryant makes numerous community appearances and works with various charities. She sits on the board of Safe Alliance in Charlotte and is a member of the Charlotte Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a non-profit, public service organization.

Bryant is also the proud mother of two children.
