Do check for cleanliness

“Check out the environment and make sure that your esthetician is clean. Make sure the trash is covered and where it needs to be. Make sure they don’t double-dip. They should use a different stick each and every time they apply wax, even to your eyebrows.”

Do mention your medications

“Any medication that you are on, you need to let your esthetician know, whether or not she asks, especially If you are on any type of type of topical or oral medication to treat acne because it can cause the skin to pull off.”

Don’t tan or sweat

“Don’t do anything that is going to cause you to sweat in that area for at least 24 hours. Sweat is excretion of toxins in your body. After you get waxed, your pores are open and sweat can get back down into your skin, causing a reaction or infection.”

Don’t shave in between waxes

“Waxing removes all the hair at the same time from the root so that it’s on the same hair growth cycle. Shaving disrupts that. It can also make waxing more painful because you are roughing the hair with that razor.”

Do try something new

“A lot of people are trying skin jewel applications. It’s like rhinestones for the skin. Once you get the hair removed, I can apply designs and shapes. It’s cute, and guys go crazy over it. They love it. A lot of women do it for special occasions. It lasts for about a week or so, even in the shower.”

Do be courteous

“If you know you are going to get a Brazilian or bikini wax, please make sure that you are clean and fresh. Don’t go work out at the gym for hours and then come get waxed. Be considerate of your esthetician.”
