Christian soldiers back into Magnificent Seven

Welcome back to the Magnificent Seven, Charlotte Christian.


The Knights are fifth in The Post’s weekly Mecklenburg County’s top high school football teams after edging rival Charlotte Latin 38-35 on freshman Wes Medeiros’ 34-yard field goal with 8 seconds left. There was room for a new entry after last week’s No. 7, East Mecklenburg, lost to Myers Park 34-24.


Charlotte Latin, which had climbed to fourth, is now sixth after losing to Christian, which started the season third.


Unbeaten Butler, which had a bye last week, puts its top ranking on the line at East Mecklenburg Friday in a key Southwestern 4A confernce game. No. 2 Independence, a 38-12 winner against Ardrey Kell, is at Providence.
